What will you do with your art today?

One of our friends shared with us the amazing power of art. Daggi Wallace has used her art to benefit the children suffering in Haiti and Carine is helping to spread the word.

What will you do with your art today? Will you share your passion with those who need hope the most. It's important to remember that we do not live in a bubble as artists. Our art can benefit others in a real way. Whether is drawing cartoons for kids in the hospital, or selling art for charity, there are many ways you can make a difference. See what Carine has to say, below.

Hi Everyone!
I was recently approached by artist Daggi Wallace, who traveled to Haiti after the earthquake to work with  children at New Life Children's Home orphanage. Her aim was to create an art project meant to raise money for books and other educational materials for the children; and to pay for trade school for the older kids. So far it's been a grand success with exhibitions in Miami and Dallas, and 400 lbs. of books in Creole, French and English delivered to the kids.

The project: The creation of collaborative portraits of the children--painted by Daggi, and framed with drawings created by each child for his/her own portrait. The project is titled Moni's Kids.
I think you'll find the result beautiful, remarkable and inspiring.
There are 13 works (from an original 31) for sale at $500 each. All paintings are pastel, 16"x16", mounted on foam core; roughly 17.5" x 17.5", framed.  All drawings, ink gel pen on black paper. Simple black wood frame.

If you are interested in purchasing one of these great pieces, email me at galerie@galerielakaye.com.
All best and hope to see you all at our next salon (coming soon!).
Enjoy,
Carine
