Making Your Art Work For You: Patreon

The picture of a starving artist is not a pretty one. There are many many ways to make your art make you money. One of the most recent additions to the artist's tool box is Patreon.

For those of you that produce regular content: a vlog, a comic strip, a painting once a week, anything that you put out consistently and you can show people - give this site a try.

Good marketers are just as successful here as they are on Kickstarter and it's certainly motivation to continue to create!  Rally your posse and see what you can do.

Here is an example of an email from a friend of the gallery who is doing just this thing. Keith Knight is a well  known comic artist who has done well in newspapers across the country, but as that market closes, he has been great at finding new avenues to help support what he loves and does best! Read his email below:

Greetings genteel souls..

First off, thanks to everyone who has joined the Round Table Weekly subscription service.  It has helped me deal with losing over 75% of my print clients over the past few years. Unfortunately, it hasn't made up for it, which is why I'm psyched to announce--

*MY PATREON PAGE!!
Patreon allows people to support artists and their work on a monthly basis.  It's basically saying "I like what you do, keep doing it, and here's a little something to continue."

YOU CAN DONATE AS LITTLE AS $1 A MONTH!!

Check out the strip I did about it:
